Endings

The lid was sealed on another generation of the McDonald family with the passing of my wonderful Aunt Peggy McDonald Collins.

Further more my mobility passed as well, drastically changed anyway. I was given a wheelchair. I never in my wildest dreams thought this day would ever come, but it’s my new reality. I’ve been in denial, fighting my way through declining mobility with canes, walking sticks and walkers. Apparently only fooling myself, someone who cared enough noticed and brought a wheelchair.

  1. I had an aunt named Peggy, too. She left us over a decade ago, but I still miss her, as I’m sure you’ll miss your beloved aunt. That’s a wonderful gift you received. I hope it makes life easier for you — perhaps even more than you’ve imagined. I think spring must be fully there now in Montana — I hope your Memorial Day weekend was a good one, too.

  2. So sorry to read this Patty. The era of these good people in the valley of the Burg is closing way to fast for my likings. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you continue to fight hard against this tough disease MS. I know you will take this latest challenge with the spunk and determination as you always have. God bless you friend.

  3. I am sorry to hear of your Aunt. Our generation’s aunts and uncles are declining as we get older. My pop was the youngest of nine, and he passed four years ago; as it should have been. His brothers and sisters and spouses have been dying for twenty years. He was the last.
Don’t ever give up! My folks had a good friend diagnosed with MS in the sixties, and some unexplained reason, he went into remission, and lived into his eighties.
Stay as active as you can.
